At Clever Minds STEM Tutoring Center, we understand that learning is about more than academics. A child's confidence, emotional comfort, ability to communicate, and willingness to engage can all play an important role in the learning process.
That is why we are proud to introduce Sandy & Lenny, our Certified Animal-Assisted Counseling Team.
More than tutoring
More Than a Tutoring Session
For some students, sitting down to read, complete schoolwork, communicate, or work through something challenging can feel overwhelming. Lenny can provide a unique source of comfort and connection while Sandy guides the educational experience.
Animal-assisted interaction may help encourage confidence, communication, responsibility, positive social interaction, sensory engagement, compassion, and emotional regulation.
For reluctant or anxious readers, reading in the presence of a therapy animal can also create a less intimidating environment where students can practice without feeling judged or pressured.

At Clever Minds, we do not believe every student should be taught in exactly the same way. Some students thrive with traditional instruction, while others benefit from movement, sensory experiences, encouragement, relationship-building, or a different approach altogether.
Sandy & Lenny give families another option for children who may benefit from a more individualized and supportive learning experience.
